Hello and welcome
I am a ceramic artist based in St Albans. I make stuff and teach - although all regular workshops have stopped while I take on a 2 year ceramics diploma at the CityLit in London. It's an exciting, intensive course which will greatly change what and how I work.
I am passionate about clay: I enjoy its feel in my hands as I work – it is highly tactile and I’m constantly fascinated by the metamorphosis from transient earth to everlasting stone. Much of my work starts on the wheel, a process which can be highly meditative - and at times highly frustrating.
I enjoy the drama, power and flow of the earth - mountains, gorges, valleys, volcanoes, water, erosion, fire ... which I try and capture in my work.
